Which Unreal Engine version is supported?

This documentation uses Unreal Engine 5.8+ as the minimum supported version.

Is GGS a complete character or game framework?

No. GGS provides composable gameplay infrastructure; it does not include a generic character, GameMode, sample game, or finished UI skin. Your project owns characters, animation, input mappings, content assets, and final presentation.

Do I have to use every module?

You do not need to reference every module from your project code. Add C++ module dependencies as needed. Keep the engine-plugin dependencies declared by the plugin descriptor available, and configure project assets for the systems you use.

Does the settings menu apply every preference automatically?

No. Providers register values and manage storage/commit flow. Your project still applies audio, input, and accessibility preferences through Shared Settings ApplySettings or its own systems. The Input provider does not implement key rebinding.

Does the interaction system search for interactable objects automatically?

The component exposes a search trigger and manages candidate/option state. Your project implements the Trace, Overlap, or Targeting strategy and passes results to the component.

Does GGS include ragdoll animations, effect libraries, or UI assets?

The plugin is code-only. Your project provides meshes, Physics Assets, animations, effect libraries, widgets, and project Data Assets.

How should I verify multiplayer behavior?

Check the server, owning client, and remote clients separately. The server controls interaction candidates and authoritative state, while the owner receives replicated presentation state. Ragdoll testing should also cover remote pose, stop conditions, and recovery animation.
